Aldehyde-activated resin for a customised solid phase is a large cross-linked agarose bead, derivatized with aldehyde ligands. ZetaCell Aldehyde-activated solid phase is used to bind primary amines, such as those found on lysine residues on proteins, through reductive amination as stable secondary amines. This results in a more stable linkage when compared to other activation chemistries such as CNBr. It is specifically designed for SMART Chromatography™ .
SMART Chromatography™ uses proprietary ZetaCell solid phases. These are based on large-particle highly cross-linked agarose, which is surface-modified to provide the desired binding functionality. The beads have been designed to allow cells and cell debris from the bioreactor to pass unhindered through the packed column bed.
SMART chromatography™ is covered by US Patent 11,325,104 & 11,731,107.
